National Building Museum Presents The BEACH - The Apartments at CityCenter

A new exhibit opened in July at the National Building Museum, and it provides a fun artistic vision to visitors.

The exhibit, The BEACH, is an interactive architectural installation in the museum’s Great Hall. It covers 10,000 square feet and includes an ocean of nearly one million recyclable translucent plastic balls. It was made in partnership with Snarkitecture.

The museum invites visitors to “swim” in the ocean or hang out on the shore playing beach-related games.  Admission to The BEACH is included with admission to the museum. There are even snacks to buy from Union Kitchen!

The museum says The BEACH is part of Summer Block Party which includes exhibitions and events for all ages. Wednesday nights are BEACH Late Nights when the museum will stay open until 9 p.m.

Don’t forget your Apartments at CityCenter Privilege Card gets you a 10 percent discount in the National Building Museum Shop, often called the best museum shop in Washington and featuring unique design objects and books for the home and office.
You can also get 10 percent off the cost of a National Building Museum membership at the Builder Level. It includes free admission to the museum, discount in the museum shop, access to architectural tours, guest passes and much more.
