The ides of March – March 15 – was a dangerous date for Julius Caesar, and fans of William Shakespeare know it well. Whether you’re a newcomer to the histories, comedies and tragedies of The Bard, or a loyal fan, DC has plenty to offer.

Shakespeare Theatre Company: For over 25 years, it has focused on works by Shakespeare, his contemporaries and those playwrights he influenced. Its artistic mission is to bring “vibrant life groundbreaking, thought-provoking and eminently accessible classic theatre in a uniquely American style.” Productions can be found at the Lansburgh Theatre and Sidney Harmon Hall in Penn Quarter.
